Job Summary:
We are currently seeking a Benefits Verification Representative to join our team. This is a work from home position based in Monroeville, PA. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that patients and clients have the necessary information regarding their insurance benefits, verifying their eligibility for services, and collaborating with healthcare providers to guarantee smooth processing of claims. Key Responsibilities:
- Verify Patient Benefits: Confirm eligibility, coverage, and details of insurance benefits for patients by contacting insurance providers.
- Communicate with Healthcare Providers: Work closely with medical offices and clinics to ensure they have up-to-date benefits information for patient care and billing.
- Accurate Data Entry: Document insurance verification details in the system, ensuring accurate and timely processing of patient data.
- Resolve Billing Issues: Address any discrepancies or issues with insurance coverage, ensuring that both patients and healthcare providers are aware of benefits and liabilities.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies by answering questions and providing clear, concise information.
- Compliance: Ensure all work is compliant with healthcare regulations, HIPAA standards, and company policies.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, business, or related field preferred.
- Previous experience in health insurance, benefits verification, or a customer service role within a healthcare setting is a plus.
- Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to effectively work with insurance providers, healthcare staff, and patients.
- Proficient in computer systems, data entry, and insurance-related software.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and problem resolution.
- Knowledge of HIPAA and other healthcare privacy laws is a plus.
