• This role is a key member of American Airlines' Talent Acquisition team and reports into the Director of Operations and Customer Service Recruiting while partnering and collaborating with business leaders, HR business partners and HR leadership.
• This position is a strategic leader, responsible for the HR Compliance and Pre-Employment Teams overseeing prescreening activities, post offer clearance processes for American's new Hires and Internal Transfers.
• This position provides management and leadership to a talented and passionate staff of HR Compliance and delivery professionals.

What you'll do

• Strategically lead and care for teams responsible for policy and procedure of Pre-employment checks.
• Oversee and manage the processing and completion of all pre-employment screening activities, such as Fingerprint, background checks and USPS forms, and Rap Back.
• Responsible for developing and implementing post-offer processes, including process mapping, data analysis and formulating recommended solutions.
• Ensure effective and consistent delivery of Pre-Employment activities across the enterprise.
• Play a key role in managing onboarding/pre-employment delivery process and special projects aimed at improving post-offer candidate experience.
• Work with IT to drive priorities and technological enhancements of Talent systems and process.
• Assess, develop and execute continuous improvement strategy for Compliance clearance processes.
• Partner with Talent Acquisition and RPO partners to improve throughput of compliance clearance.
• Manage RPO resources related to delivery of Pre-Employment processes, including planning and implementation of all aspects of post-offer clearance.

• Conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy and integrity of pre-employment clearance data.
• Use graphs, infographics and other methods to visualize data and build actionable insights/reports for business leaders
• Utilize data to make fact-based, relevant decisions that drive continual value to business
• Drive multiple hiring projects simultaneously yielding superior results within tight timeframe
• Create a culture which fosters a professional workplace, strong work ethic, and company pride
• Should have effective platform/presentation skills, to be a successful communicator across a diverse audience.
• Must be able to build and maintain effective relationships.
• Must be a self-starter, with the ability to work without close supervision.
• Should be able to balance multiple priorities, work under pressure with complex issues within established time constraints and meet deadlines and objectives.

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications - Education & Prior Job Experience
• Bachelor's degree, ideally within a Business, Operations or HR concentration
• 7 years experience in Talent Acquisition in large, complex, global organizations

Preferred Qualifications - Education & Prior Job Experience
• Familiarity with recruitment in a complex unionized environment
• Management or lead experience developing and managing a team in a function
• Experience in designing, implementing, and improving business processes aimed at solving complex business problems
• Experience in managing and working within an RPO environment

Skills, Licenses & Certifications
• Exposure and understanding of enterprise-wide strategic workforce planning activities
• Must possess strong analytical, problem solving, investigative skills
• Expert level proficiency in Microsoft applications, including MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and Visio.
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Energetic, forward-thinking, creative, and able to challenge assumptions while providing a high-quality work product
• Flexible and comfortable with ambiguity, able to embrace change
• Collaborative and comfortable in client centric environment with a commitment to excellent service quality
• Ability to translate strategy into actions
